RICKY PLAYS IN THE BORDER BOWL II

Congratulations to one of our football players, Ricky W., who played in the Border Bowl II on Saturday, January 10, at Lucy C Laney Memorial Stadium in Augusta, Georgia.  The Border Bowl is comprised of players from Georgia versus players from South Carolina.  On the final play of the game, Ricky's tackle stopped Georgia from scoring assuring the South Carolina team of a victory with a score of 12 - 8.  Go Ricky!

AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

REGISTRATION REMAINS OPEN

It is not too late for students to participate in this afterschool program which operates from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.. Students receive assistance in tutoring, homework assistance, character and leadership development, health and life skills and much more.  Free daily transportation is provided.  If interested, please pick up an application from Mrs. Shugerts in the front office. 




BLACKVILLE-HILDA HIGH SCHOOL WINS PALMETTO GOLD AWARD

The Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards program, founded in 1998, recognizes schools for general performance and closing the achievement gap.  Blackville-Hilda High School has been named a Palmetto Gold recipient for closing the achievement gap by SC Education Oversight Committee for the 2013-2014 school term.  Only 53% of schools in the state of South Carolina qualified as top performers for the Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards program for the term.

TUTORING IS PROVIDED

Students who are having difficulties with their classwork and/or homework and who need extra help MUST attend tutoring sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20 - 4:15  p.m.

Have you misplaced your yearbook, or were you not able to buy one while in school? Now is your opportunity to obtain an old yearbook at a bargain price. If you are looking for a more recent yearbook at the price of $25, please contact Ms. Felder at (803) 284-5700.
